Loop and coast
A toy car on a toy track, drawn in your browser. Hold to go and let go to slow down. There is a new track every day, and a builder for your own.
The race
This game draws its track with WebGL 2, which this browser does not offer. Our other games play without it.
Build a track
Pieces go on one after another from the start gate, and the finish gate follows the last one. A piece that would run into the track cannot be added.
How to play
Press and hold Hold to go, the space bar or the scene itself, and the car speeds up. Let go and it slows down. Loops and gaps need speed, so hold through them. A turn throws off a car that comes in too fast, so let go before it; when a turn's walls light up, you are too fast for it. On your first run, the outer wall catches the car the first time it is too fast for each turn and slows it hard instead. A car that leaves the track goes back to the last lamp it passed, and 3 seconds go on the clock. Fall twice at the same piece and the car is put down past it.Your best run on a track races beside you as a see-through ghost, and the time beside the clock says how far ahead or behind it you are at each lamp. A new track comes at midnight, and the streak counts the days in a row you finish it. Build a track lays pieces from the start gate, though a turn cannot go straight after a ramp; Drive this track races it, and Copy link gives a link to it. A finished run's Share result sends your time with a link to the same track.
About this game
The car follows the centre line of the track, and its speed changes with the slope, the motor, the brake and the boosters. In a loop it stays on only while it is fast enough to press on the road at the top. In a turn, the banked road and the grip of the tyres together have to push the car toward the centre, and past a certain speed they cannot. Off the road the car flies like a thrown ball until it lands or reaches the floor. Each day's track is built from the date, so everyone gets the same one. The car, the track and the scene are our own designs, made in code. Everything runs in your browser with WebGL we wrote by hand, the engine sound is made with Web Audio, and nothing you do here is sent anywhere. Your times and ghosts stay in this browser.
